Accidental bodily injury or death coverage

The personal accident insurance policy related to the use of aircraft provides for the payment of a lump-sum benefit to the insured victim in the event of permanent disability or to his beneficiaries in the event of accidental death (whether the policyholder is a flight attendant or a member of the crew, or a passenger).

This coverage comes into play in the event of an accident related to the use of the insured aircraft. It is triggered when the insured party is on board the aircraft, or while he or she is boarding or disembarking. It extends to accidents that result from the use of emergency rescue equipment on board the aircraft and to accidents that occur during the transfer of the insured party from the scene of the accident to the establishment where first/emergency aid is provided.
